Foraging Vest

Not fitting the norms of civilized society by playing the giggling debutante, I find myself foraging to get enough to survive an indifferent, entitled patriarchy.
It makes me feel rootless, and uneasy.

Artist Ann Smith dives into her experience in The FET!SH Project and the inspiration behind her piece “Foraging Vest.”

Ann Smith

Ann Smith is a graduate of College for Creative Studies, Detroit, Michigan. Ann's sculptures have been exhibited in many Midwest galleries, the Kresge Foundation, and curated in group exhibitions in the Midwest. Her art is in many private collections. Ann's studio is at the 333 Midland complex in Highland Park, Michigan.
